Spectator Rules of Conduct for ALL UIL EVENTS:
UIL Rule: Senate Bill 2929
Prohibition: Spectators must remain in designated seating areas and are not allowed on the playing surface.
Immediate Ejection: Under Senate Bill 2929, officials (referees, judges) can order the immediate removal of any fan for disruptive behavior, such as entering the court, without a prior warning.
Consequences: Ejected spectators may be banned from future events, and police may be involved, potentially leading to criminal trespassing charges.
School Penalties: Schools with more than three spectator-related incidents (including entering the field or abuse) within a school year may lose the ability to host home officials.
Purpose: The rule is designed to ensure safety and maintain order, prioritizing the protection of players, coaches, and officials.
Spectator attendance at UIL events is considered a privilege, not a right, and conduct must be respectful and positive.
